The KP Snacks team (pictured) dominated the recent GroceryAid Windermere Row (11 May), knocking four minutes off the course record, previously held by Tesco.
The event, known for its competitive rivalry, saw 150 rowers take to the water to raise over £85,000 for the industry charity. This money will provide 110 crisis grants to help change grocery colleagues’ lives for the better.
The challenge took place over a gruelling 10-mile course with all boats cheered on fiercely by family and friends. The evening saw over 200 people gather at the awards party in a stunning lakeside location to see the prize giving and enjoy games, raffles and live music.
Emma Taylor, People Director UK & ROI at Tesco, commented: “The Windermere Row is a fabulous and fun-filled event – it combines physical challenge and the opportunity for teambuilding, with the chance to spend time with colleagues and family, all whilst making a difference for this really worthwhile cause.”
Next year’s Windermere Row will take place on 9 May 2020. If you want to find out more about this brilliant team-building event contact events@groceryaid.org.uk or call 01252 875925.
