Scientists are pretty clever. They can send people to the moon, cure diseases and make cars that run on whisky. “What?!!” you exclaim. Cars that run on whisky? Yes, cars that run on whisky. That’s right. The Tullibardine distillery has teamed up with some boffins to use bacteria to feed on the draff and pot ales (leftovers, for the uninitiated) from the whisky production process to produce butanol, a liquid that can be used to – you guessed it – power cars.
