FrieslandCampina, producer of flavoured milk drink Yazoo, has appointed Wayne Thompson (pictured) as its new Customer Marketing Manager, effective from this month.
The appointment signals the company’s intent to partner more closely with grocery retailers.
Thompson first joined FrieslandCampina in September 2017 from Sainsbury’s, where he was a buyer for bakery, cake and sweet treats. After spending six months as an account manager, he will now be responsible for developing and implementing FrieslandCampina’s channel, customer and category strategy, and will report to Marketing Director, Will Jones.
Will Jones commented: “Wayne’s experience means he knows what buyers want to see, hear and know. His insight will be invaluable in empowering the team to deliver what our retail partners really want.”
Wayne Thompson added: “We have a fantastic set up at FrieslandCampina UK and as part of an international organisation with products in more than 100 companies, have a huge amount of experience and insight behind us, but retailers don’t always realise it. I plan on bringing the voice of the customer to the role and help the team to add value to the data we have available and drive category value.”
