In order to help the public get back to doing what they miss the most, Wall’s Pastry will run a promotion later in the year with a chance to win a number of tailored prizes inspired by the activities the nation has been without during lockdown.
Wall’s Pastry Brand Manager Mike Holton explained: “We will tailor our promotion prizes to support the nation in doing what they have missed the most once the lockdown ends, in the hope of encouraging them to revisit their favourite food outlets and leisure attractions with their friends and loved ones.”
The promotion will feature on Wall’s Pastry products throughout autumn 2020.
To find out what people are missing during lockdown, Wall’s commissioned an online YouGov survey, which reached more than 1,800 members of the public.
Seeing friends and family topped the poll, with 84% of Brits saying it’s their most missed activity.
Two-thirds of people (67%) also listed leisure activities in their top three, whilst visiting a restaurant or a pub came in third with 61% of the vote.
Holton added: “The current crisis has meant that as a nation, we are all reassessing the importance of our closest relationships and the activities we love doing together, so it’s fantastic to see socialising, spending quality time with family and dining out ranking so highly in our survey.”
Results also showed that 39% of Gen Z and millennials (18 to 24-year-olds) are missing going to the gym and taking regular workout classes as opposed to 17% of baby boomers (over 55s) who are missing home and garden renovations.
