After receiving 1.2 million entries for its latest Do Us a Flavour competition, Walkers has whittled it down to just six shortlisted flavours, which are now available for sale. The six flavours are:
- Ranch Racoon
- Chip Shop Chicken Curry
- Hot Dog with Tomato Ketchup
- Pulled Pork in a Sticky BBQ Sauce
- Cheesy Beans on Toast
- Sizzling Steak Fajita
Walkers re-launched the ‘Do Us a Flavour’ campaign back in January this year kicking off a nationwide search to find new, great-tasting flavour combinations. Entries closed in March and now voting opens to the public until mid October, when the £1million prize winner will be announced and the five runners up each bag a tasty £10,000.
Commenting Lee-Teng Chung, Walkers Marketing Manager, said: “It’s clear Do Us a Flavour has sparked the nation’s imagination this year; there’s been an incredible number of entries including countless weird and wonderful suggestions like Piri Piri Pigeon with Sour Cream; Roast Pork and Toffee Apple; Afternoon Tea, Cheese and Cucumber. We’re really excited to see which of the six finalists will be crowned the winner and walk away with the amazing £1million prize – it’s now in the hands of our shoppers.”
Consumers will be able to vote for their favourite until 17th October. “With the competition already proving to be extremely popular with consumers, retailers should make the most of this opportunity and stock the ‘limited edition’ final flavours to maximise sales whilst they can,” added Chung.
The expert judging panel included comedian David Walliams and Michelin starred chef Marco Pierre White, who helped the Walkers team whittle down over one million entries to find the six competition finalists.
