Battery brand Varta has partnered with The Scouts to inspire young people to adopt sustainable practices and contribute to a greener planet.
This sees the addition of the Varta logo to the Global Issues Badge – awarded to Cub Scouts who have demonstrated an understanding of important issues affecting the planet.
The partnership also introduces activities such as designing battery recycling boxes for the home, tree-planting initiatives, and a battery recycling competition. A highlight of the programme is the ‘Ready, Steady, Recycle’ activity, which teaches Cubs how to sort household waste, including batteries, and encourages the development of early recycling habits.
Varta’s partnership with Bower, a consumer recycling app, further amplifies the initiative by rewarding app users, including Scout members, for recycling batteries. By recycling four batteries, Varta will donate £1 to The Scouts, supporting the development of the Cubs’ Global Issues Badge and other sustainability-focused activities.
Further details about the partnership can be found on The Scouts website.
