Consumer confidence decreased nine points to -30 in October, new data reveals.
GfK’s long-running Consumer Confidence Index shows that all five measures of confidence were down in comparison to last month’s announcement.
Joe Staton, Client Strategy Director at GfK, said: “The volatility we are seeing in consumer confidence is a sure sign of a depressed economic mood and there’s no immediate prospect of any improvement.”
The UK Consumer Confidence Barometer is conducted among a sample of 2,001 individuals aged 16 years old and over.
