Tomatin Distillery has unveiled its latest limited-edition single malt, Tomatin 2001, which is exclusive to the UK.
Bottled at 57.4% ABV, the whisky has been matured in a Pedro Ximenez Sherry Butt to develop a complex flavour profile, offering a mix of dark sweetness and bitter notes that will appeal to whisky connoisseurs.
Described in tasting notes as rich and intensely sweet on the nose, Tomatin 2001 has an “almost chewy” mouthfeel, with notes of cherry and plum liqueurs followed by golden syrup and Jamaican ginger cake. It finishes with a mix of dark sweetness, bitter notes and lingering spice.
It is available in a 70cl bottle which comes in solid display box, at an RSP of £395. A total of 658 bottles have been released.

The bitterness of dark chocolate, treacle, espresso and leather are expertly drawn out, while the signature distillery character shines through.”
