Thousands of illegal cigarettes and vapes seized in Glasgow

An inspection of local premises in Springburn in the north of Glasgow has uncovered 31,420 illegal cigarettes and 1088 illegal vapes.

Conducted on Wednesday 5th February by Local Community Officers from Maryhill and Glasgow City Council Trading Standards Department, the inspection was carried out following concerns of youths being sold illegal vapes.

Police Scotland Greater Glasgow said: “This positive outcome will result in sanctions being placed on businesses as well as potential fines of up to £10000.”
