SLR raised a glass to Scotland’s superstar sales colleagues at the magnificent Above and Beyond Awards on Wednesday 12 March 2025.
The breathtaking Corinthian Rooms in Glasgow was a fitting setting in which to celebrate some truly remarkable people.
No other sector compares to convenience when it comes to building close bonds with customers and supporting local communities, and our hidden hero sales colleagues are at the very heart of the action.
Hosted by SLR Publisher Antony Begley and Features Editor Gaelle Walker, The Above and Beyond Awards shone a spotlight on some of the very brightest stars in our sector.
From a shortlist of 26 outstanding finalists, who each received a certificate, eight winners were chosen:
Over 20 local charities and causes benefit from the help of Independent Store Colleague of 2025, Lynsey Mann of Premier Girvan, who bends over backwards to support her community.
Meanwhile, Company Owned Store Colleague of 2025, Kyrie Davidson of Spar Kincaidston, uses her position as store manager to make a meaningful difference to local lives.
Efficiency has been dramatically improved at Baba’s Kitchen thanks to Business Booster of 2025, Reece Beattie, who has developed back-office systems, as well as engaging social media content.
In challenging and emotionally charged situations, Team of the Year 2025, Premier DUSA work together to provide sterling service, whilst implementing industry-leading sustainability initiatives.
In the six years she has worked at Baba’s Kitchen, Up and Coming Star for 2025, Amy Bennett, has continuously looked for new ways to boost footfall and grow turnover.
Tanya Wilson, winner of our Long Service Award for 2025, has spread joy to customers at Spar Eastriggs for almost 20 years with countless community initiatives.
Our Astonishing Act winners, Salman Javed of A & J Stores, and Alix Kegg of Londis Solo Convenience, both stepped up to assist in first aid emergencies where their compassion and quick thinking saved the day.
