McCoy’s is out to replicate the “full-on chip shop experience” with its latest NPD innovation, McCoy’s Chips.
Apparently, new technology has created “a lighter, crinkled chip” which, the brand says, “delivers a crunchy outside yet fluffy inside that tastes just like the real thing”.
Available to convenience and impulse retailers from February 2017, the new range is offered in 70g £1 PMPs in two flavours: Salt & Vinegar and Curry Sauce.
Matt Collins, sales director for convenience, wholesale, discounters & foodservice at KP Snacks commented: “Consumers are making over 27 million visits to chip shops every month, so it was important we recognised this trend and continued to innovate and deliver snacking products and flavours that consumers crave.
“Flavour is still the number one sales driver within crisps and snacks, with 65% of purchase decisions based on taste. McCoy’s Chips presents a unique offering that consumers simply can’t find elsewhere, and at an appealing £1 price point, we are giving independent retailers a strong point of difference with a proven track record of success.”
