Spar’s £100k Community Cashback returns for a fourth year

2025 SPAR £100K Community Cashback

Now in its fourth consecutive year, Spar’s £100,000 Community Cashback campaign is back to provide much-needed funding to voluntary organisations, charities and community groups across the UK.

Last year, Spar awarded more than 50 charities and local causes with grants of up to £10,000, helping them make a real difference in their communities. With over 10,000 entries, the demand for support was clear, reinforcing Spar’s commitment to giving back.

Applications open today (24th April), giving shoppers across the UK the opportunity to nominate a local charity or organisation that deserves funding. The process is simple – nominators just need to highlight the exceptional contribution the organisation has made and explain how a grant would help further their work.

Running until 4th June, the £100,000 fund will be distributed across all geographical regions of the UK, with individual grants of up to £10,000 available.

Ian Taylor, Retail and Brand Development Director at Spar UK, said: Our Spar Community Cashback campaign is all about supporting the communities where our stores are located. We have seen first-hand the incredible impact these grants have on local organisations, and we are proud to continue giving back.

“This initiative is more than just funding – it’s a way of showing our shoppers that we truly care about the causes close to their hearts. Supporting local communities has always been part of Spar’s heritage, and we are committed to making a tangible difference where it matters most.”

The 2025 campaign will support a diverse range of organisations making a real impact. Some of last year’s grant recipients include:

  • Oliver’s Army, Scotland – Offering therapy dog assistance for children and adults with autism, ADHD, and physical disabilities.
  • Contact Hostel, Manchester – Providing support and accommodation for homeless teenage girls and young women
  • St Luke’s Hospice, Harrow & Brent – Caring for those approaching the end of their lives.
  • River & Sea Sense, North Wales – Delivering water safety education and training for schools, youth groups, and service organisations.
  • CAAP, Children’s Additional Activities Programme, Cornwall – Supporting families of children with additional needs by providing accessible school holiday activities.
