Spar has launched a new Tex Mex-inspired range, consisting of a selection of main and side dishes.
The Spar Brand Tex-Mex range comprises:
- Spar Spicy Beef Burritos (215g)
- Spar Cajun Chicken with Potato Wedges (450g)
- Spar Chipotle Beef Chilli Con Carne with Rice (450g)
- Spar Dirty Fries (330g)
- Spar Mac ‘n’ Cheese Bites (285g)
The main meals feature in the two for £5.50 deal and the sides RSP at £2.50.
Available now, the new line-up is supported by an extensive marketing campaign to win a holiday to Mexico.
“Americana has emerged as a new and exciting range in the evening meals market, gaining huge popularity in recent months,” said Joanne Cramer, Spar UK Senior Brand Manager.
“The British public has really embraced this, so we are capitalising on the opportunity to help our retailers drive sales in the evening meals market.”
The launch coincided with news that Spar’s Silverbrook Falls Water bottle is now made of up to 51% recycled plastic.
The move comes in a bid to tackle single-use plastics. Cath McIlwham, Spar UK Head of Spar Brand, said the company was committed to being an environmentally responsible retailer.
“We will save almost 130 tonnes of plastic every year with the changes we’ve made to the packaging. We are confident this initiative will be a huge success for our retailers,” she said.
