Spar Scotland has rebranded two of its delivery vehicles to promote the 2024 World Athletics Indoor Championships, which are taking place in Glasgow from 1-3 March.
In addition, Spar Scotland is providing support by supplying products, including sandwiches, yoghurts, fruit, and nutrition bars, to help fuel the hundreds of volunteers and staff who will be working at the event over the three days, as well as providing complimentary drinks and products for the VIP areas.
Spar Scotland has also invested heavily to support the promotion of the event with social media, Spar in-store radio advertising, in-store digital screens and point of sale, consumer competitions and PR.
There will also be an in-store event taking place in Spar Garthamlock on 20 February to kick off the countdown to the championships.
Paula Middleton, Head of Marketing at Spar Scotland, said: “We have strong links with sport and athletics and are excited to be the first official event supporter for this prestigious competition. Our vehicles travel all over Scotland delivering products to Spar stores and the new livery on two of our vehicles is a great opportunity to promote our event sponsor status. We are excited to play our part in promoting this big occasion.”
Billy Garrett, Director of Tourism, Culture and Events at Glasgow Life and joint Chair of the Local Organising Committee, added: “We are delighted to welcome Spar Scotland as our first Official Event Supporter for this prestigious event. Their strong links to athletics internationally, complemented by their extensive network of stores in Scotland, make them an ideal partner.
“We are excited about their ambition to help promote the Championships across the country, and the strong community values we share, and we look forward to working closely with them.”
A projected global audience of more than 100 million viewers in 150 territories will watch the Championships.
