Spar back on box

Spar Scotland is returning to TV screens in a series of ads to be aired on STV.

The campaign focuses on six headline brands including Goodfella’s, Irn Bru, Budweiser, Tennent’s, Tanqueray and Golden Wonder.

Two 20-second ads will run every day between 26 January and 15 February at various times including the primetime slot between Emmerdale and Coronation Street. They are expected to reach over 1.5m adults an average of 3.8 times across Scotland.

The TV ad is supported with digital activity, external advertising, Spar in-store radio and POS.

Products advertised on TV will be given strong visibility in prominent locations across stores to complement the increased level of value-lead promotions available.

CJ Lang boss Colin McLean (pictured) said the time was right to put Spar back on TV: “We firmly believe our new advertising will drive sales through extra footfall and an increase in basket spend. The TV adverts have been created with a view to improve consumer perception of Spar. By focusing on these six headline products, our Spar stores are offering shoppers credible options.”
