Spar Scotland launched its second virtual trade show today (23 September), with retailers able to place orders with more than 160 suppliers.
The event is being attended by over 500 delegates including retailers, national accounts, wholesale accounts, prospective retailers, company-owned store managers, CJ Lang central teams, Spar UK, Spar International, industry bodies, and the trade press.
The main stage will feature presentations throughout the day from Colin McLean and Spar Scotland directors, with additional exhibitions from some supplier sponsors including Coca Cola, Walkers Pepsico, Elite Mobile, Cold Town Brewery, Snappy Shopper, TWC and Hovis.
Updates are also being provided by Tobias Wasmuht of Spar International, Louise Hoste of Spar UK, the Scottish FA, GroceryAid, and Spar’s national charity partner Marie Curie.
Chief Executive of Spar Scotland, Colin McLean, said: “Given the tremendous success of our first event on the virtual platform, and our decision to hold this tradeshow again virtually, we are delighted to see the format go from strength to strength.
“The convenience channel continues to remain competitive and the industry as a whole has had some challenges over the last 12 months. However, Spar in Scotland is in a great place and we are achieving our goal of broadening our reach and distribution around Scotland and we will continue to grow the business and explore new opportunities.”
There is an added element of fun this year, with a games room available on the portal, which sees delegates take part for the chance to win a range of prizes.
McLean added: “The entire team at Spar Scotland thanks everyone for taking part and we are looking forward to seeing everyone at our face-to-face event on 22 September 2022 at the MacDonald hotel and resort in Aviemore.”
