Spar Scotland has relaunched its Grangemouth store, at 91 Newhouse Road, after a refit.

The 1,319sq ft company-owned store has had new energy-efficient CO2 refrigeration installed throughout the store to provide shoppers with a greater range of fresh and frozen foods, beers and wines, soft drinks, and sandwiches.

Spar Newhouse Road has had new graphics added to the front of the store and internally, giving it a fresh new look and appearance. The store has also been decorated internally and externally, with new feature lighting for a brighter look, new electronic shelf edge labels (ESELs) and the CJ’s food-to-go area has been remodelled to allow for a new range of refrigerated sandwiches.

At the official launch, the retailer gave away 100 goody bags and a variety of prizes including Spar shopping vouchers, Rollover hotdog merchandise, F’real merchandise, t-shirts, Barr merchandise, Swizzels products, and Stuart’s the Bakers was on hand to provide some free samples. There were also special offers on a host of Spar own label and leading branded daily essential food and drink items.

Spar Newhouse Road also donated £500 cheques and £500 worth of Spar vouchers to NU2U Furniture and Food Project and the Grangemouth Rotary Club. The store team also donated £500 of Spar vouchers to the Grangemouth Saturday Lunch Club who are supplying children with packed lunches throughout the summer holidays.

Steven Irons, Company Owned Stores Director at Spar Scotland, said: “We are delighted with how bright and modern the store looks. It has been revamped to offer an extensive range of chilled and frozen food which shoppers can enjoy.

“What’s equally pleasing is the donations we’ve made to local community groups. We know how difficult fundraising can be for small local groups. That’s why we’re always keen to give back to groups in the local communities where our stores are based.”

In addition, Spar Scotland has relaunched its store in East Wemyss, in Fife, after a revamp.

The 1,584sq ft Spar store has had a raft of changes including new CO2 energy efficient refrigeration installed throughout to provide local shoppers with an increased fresh, chilled, frozen foods and beers, wines and spirits offering.

The front of the store has also had a total refresh with a new external Spar fascia sign and window graphics. The store front door has been moved to create space for the dedicated CJ’s food-to-go area, which includes Costa Coffee, Rollover hotdogs, F’real, and Tango Ice machines.

Externally and internally the store has been repainted with new internal signage and window graphics providing details of local history of the surrounding area.
