Spar Lawthorn, near Irvine in North Ayrshire, has received a new look and feel after being refitted.
The 1,646sq ft store has been fully refurbished and now features energy efficient refrigeration, new shelving, flooring, ceiling, lighting and internal and external graphics. The food-to-go offering has also been expanded to include an enhanced hot foods offer.
The store is owned and operated by C J Lang & Son, the Dundee-based retailer and wholesaler for Spar in Scotland.
To mark the relaunch, local residents and shoppers were invited a fun day in the store. A face-painter and the Spar spinning wheel were on hand to give-away 100 goody bags and a variety of prizes including Spar shopping vouchers.
Browning’s the bakers also provided shoppers with free product samples and there were special offers on a host of Spar own label products and leading branded daily essential food and drink items.
In addition, two local good causes were presented with donations. A donation of £500 was made to Lawthorn Primary School and £500 worth of Spar vouchers were given to the foodbank and Warm Spaces at The Girdle Toll Parish Church.

Spar Lawthorn, whichis located at Cardow Crescent, is open between 7am-10pm Monday-Saturday and 8am-10pm Sunday.
