Spar Garthamlock held a party to celebrate the launch of festivities for the 2024 World Athletics Indoor Championships.
Spar Scotland is an official event supporter of the 2024 World Athletics Indoor Championships taking place in Glasgow from 1-3 March.
The party saw one of Scotland’s most accomplished international athletes, Eilidh Doyle, join in the activities on the day. She was surprised with a birthday cake from the store team, delivered by one of Spar Scotland’s lorries featuring a new livery to promote the world sporting event.
Also attending on the day was Scottee the official mascot for the 2024 World Athletics Indoor Championships in Glasgow.
Hundreds of residents attended and children from two local primary schools, Avenue End Primary and Sunnyside Primary, also visited. The schools were each were presented with a £250 cheque donation.
There was also a face-painter, balloons, Snappy Shopper Photobooth, and the Spar spinning wheel was on hand to give-away 100 goody bags and a variety of prizes including Spar shopping vouchers.
Suppliers Rollover Hotdogs and PK Foods kindly provided shoppers with complimentary product samples. Browning’s the Bakers also handed out ‘Gold Medal Winner’ biscuits created especially for the day and decorated with the Spar logo.
In addition, SGF’s Healthy Living Programme was set up in the store, offering children the chance to taste food and deliver a treasure hunt around the store.
