CJ Lang & Son has hosted a customer launch party at its newly-opened Spar Crosshouse store in East Ayrshire.
The event saw staff and a selection of suppliers, including Browning’s, COOK, and Babas Sauce, on hand to offer product tastings, give out goody bags and spin the wheel for customer prizes.
In addition, Crosshouse Foodbank was presented with a £500 cheque by Spar Scotland and the local girls’ football team attended in their Spar Scotland-sponsored away kit strips.
Representatives from Spar’s national charity partner, Marie Curie, were also in attendance to raise awareness of the work their frontline nurses and hospices do in providing end-of-life care.
Colin McLean, Spar Scotland Chief Executive, said: “We have invested significantly in the store and given it a brand-new look and feel. Since opening the doors in August, the customer response has exceeded all expectations.
“We are very proud of the team running the store and know that they are enjoying all the new additions including our extensive food-to-go offer, fresh produce from the local butchers, Pollok Williamson, self-scan checkouts, digital screens, reverse vending machine and modern chilled and frozen sections.”
Spar Crosshouse has also hosted its first supplier tasting event with Harriet’s Garden. A supplier tasting event will then take place in-store every second Friday until the end of December 2022 with suppliers such as Browning’s, PK Foods, Deli Lites, Rollover, and Babas Sauce lined up to take part in the event.
Spar Crosshouse, at 14 Kilmarnock Road, employs 23 local people.
