Mars has unveiled a Snickers and Hazelnut bar, a new permanent addition to the Snickers brand.
Mars is launching the new variant as a single and four count multi-pack from 25th May. The green packaging has been designed to increase standout on shelf and differentiate from the standard bar.
Bep Dhaliwal, Trade Communications Manager, Mars Chocolate UK, said: “Snickers is currently the number two best-selling single and number three multipack in the market. The combination of a best-selling bar brand and NPD, which is the biggest driver of category growth, means that we believe Snickers and Hazelnut will be another winning formula.”
She added: “For maximum impact, ensure that the new bar is stocked next to Snickers standard and in addition to existing facings. Multifacing bestselling lines, such as Snickers, drives an additional 23% sales as they create standout and impact, allowing consumers to find the product more easily.”
The launch is being be supported by a £2m media investment comprising of a range of POS materials showcasing a new design including pre-filled units, dumpbins and counter top units as well as core TV coverage, and outdoor and online advertising. The Snickers brand is also being supported by a £10.2m media spend throughout 2015.
New Snickers and Hazelnut will be available in a single bar with an rrp of 55p and in a multi-pack of four bars with an rrp of £1.79.
