Wrigley is bringing back its limited edition confectionery products, Skittles Darkside and Starburst Trick or Treat, in a bid to boost Halloween sales.
Last year Wrigley’s confectionery sales grew by 25% in total market across the Halloween season, supported by the limited edition launches.
Skittles is showing consumers its Darkside for a second year. With five spooky flavours including Forbidden Fruit, Midnight Lime, Blood Orange, Pomegranate and Dark Berry, the dark indigo 174g hanging pouch retails at an rrp of £1.28.
Starburst returns with its Trick or Treat limited edition 165g Tear and Scare pouch, which offers a mixture of sweet and sour flavours, including Apple, Orange & Raspberry at an rrp of £1.
Featuring in the top 10 non-chocolate confectionery products of Halloween 2015, Skittles Fruits Funsize completes the (witches) hat trick. The range is available in multipacks of 11 x 18g bags, with an rrp of £1.39.
Demonic Dan Newell, Wrigley Confections Marketing Manager, spookily said: “Halloween is an ideal holiday season for retailers to capitalise on, with consumers looking to purchase themed products to celebrate the scary event. Retailers should stock up on special confectionery packs to complete their Halloween ranges and add to the theatre in store.”
Wrigley will support the launch with Halloween-themed POS including dedicated cardboard units and clipstrips.
The two limited edition Halloween sweets will be available from 22nd August 2016 for three months. Skittles Fruits Funsize is available all year round.
