Twenty-two teams recently took aim at the GroceryAid Clay Pigeon Shoot, raising over £68,000 for the industry charity in the process.
Despite some impressive competition from the field it was the team from Sainbury’s (pictured) who came out on top, perhaps spurred on by the knowledge that Tesco was co-sponsoring the event with Diageo GB.
Simon Winks of the Sainsbury’s team made it a trophy double as he was awarded best individual shot of the day.
The event returned to the world-class E.J. Churchill Shooting Grounds in High Wycombe and an increase in team numbers added with the June sunshine led to a memorable day out. Event fundraising grew from 2016 by more than 35%. This will enable GroceryAid to support around 45 beneficiaries for twelve months.
Guy Dodwell, Sales Director GB Off Trade at Diageo, commented; “Fantastic day; best supported clay shooting event we’ve ever run with GroceryAid. Fun and competitive in equal measure!”
The annual Clay Pigeon Shoot will take place next year on June 14. To register your interest please email events@groceryaid.org.uk or call 01252 875925.
