GQ Magazine has named Scotland’s Arbikie Vodka as one of “the best vodkas in the world”. The news follows Arbikie’s recent award of ‘Best Vodka’ at the Paris Spirits Innovation Awards.
The vodka is described by the lifestyle magazine as “scotch but not as you know it” and recommends drinking simply over ice to enjoy the depth of flavour.
Unlike the majority of vodka, which is made with wheat, the Arbikie brand is made from potatoes, giving it a distinctive flavour and providing a slightly sweet, creamy and smooth taste.
Arbikie, which has only been available for nine months, is joined on GQ’s list by international heavyweights such as Belvedere, Grey Goose, Ketel One Vodka and Snow Leopard. Director John Stirling commented: “We set up Arbikie Highland Estate to create super-premium spirits and as a start-up business, we’re delighted to be included with some of the world’s most famous brands”.
Arbikie Vodka is distributed throughout the United Kingdom by Gordon and MacPhail and is also available from www.arbikie.com.
