Scotmid picked up the Outstanding Contribution Award at this year’s Retailers Against Crime (RAC) conference, in recognition of the cooperative’s efforts in combating retail crime and supporting the wider retail community.
The award acknowledges Scotmid’s collaboration with RAC to tackle retail crime, in particular the efforts of the Scotmid team to share vital intelligence, which is used to support other retailers and police forces both in the detention and prevention of further offences.
Debbie MacDonald, Lead Profit Protection Manager at Scotmid, said: “We are extremely proud to receive this award. It reflects the hard work of our team in reducing crime and supporting the safety of our stores, customers, and staff. Working alongside RAC and our retail partners, we will continue to prioritise safety and reduce losses caused by shoplifting.”
Scotmid’s security officers play a vital role in deterring potential offenders, while Intelligence Coordinator, Kelly, ensures all critical information is collected and passed on to RAC for further action.
Stephanie Karté, National Operations Manager at RAC said: “These awards are given to our members to thank them for their continued support and contribution they provide to RAC. Without members like Scotmid, we would not be able to provide the service we do.”
