Former David Sands exec Stephen Brown has joined Scotmid Co-operative to lead the development of local market and supplier sourcing initiatives.
Following his experience in this area with David Sands, Brown will be working with Scotmid’s food retail team, Brown will help ensure that the business builds the relationships with local suppliers whilst seeking out new opportunities to support local Scottish food producers.
Brown said: “Scottish customers are very supportive of locally produced products, and Scotmid has an ambition to meet that need, while at the same time bringing its support to both traditional and emerging quality local food businesses. This new initiative will see us look for new local suppliers and develop relationships with them that will give us something different to our customer base.”
