Doritos’ flavour campaign, A or B, has reached its conclusion, drawing in over 50,000 consumer entries.
Shoppers were invited to eliminate their least favourite of the two flavours, and in a close-fought battle, Doritos B (Ultimate Cheeseburger) lost out to Doritos A (Sizzling Salsa).
To encourage shoppers to get involved a £20,000 prize was up for grabs, going to the person who thought up the most creative way to ‘eliminate’ their least preferred flavour. The winner was Saffron Cullip, a 20 year old student from Southampton. Her idea involved launching Doritos B clay pigeon-style, for the packs to be blasted by a posse of shotgun-wielding pigeons of the feathered variety.
As well as receiving the prize money, Saffron had her idea brought to ‘life’ in the form of a short animated video.
Sizzling Salsa is now officially a new flavour in the Doritos range. It is available from today (19th September) at an rpp of £1.99.
