Rowntree’s offers families great escapes

Rowntree’s has launched a summer promotion that offers families of all ages the chance to win one of 85 Great Escapes.

The promotion will run across the full Rowntree’s portfolio of singles and sharing bags, including Fruit Pastilles, Fruit Gums, Randoms, Jelly Tots and Tooty Frooties. Promotional stock will be available from 1st June.

Each Great Escape will be based in the UK or Republic of Ireland and features locations such as yurts, treehouses, coastal and country retreats. Whilst the primary target audience is mums aged 28-44 with school-aged kids, the prizes highlighted on packs will differ with each product in order to appeal more closely to its target audience. For example, Jelly Tots will feature Farm and Forest Funtime escapes, for Randoms its Glamorous Glamping whilst Fruit Pastilles will feature Luxury Lodges.

Promotional packs feature a code which consumers enter onto a website to find out if they are a winner.

The brand will also be launching a limited edition Fruit Pastilles Berries and Cream single and a permanent Berries and Cream sharing bag in time for summer. Each pack will contain a mix of strawberry and cream, raspberry and cream and blackberry and cream sweets, with stock also available from 1st June.

A Nestlé UK & Ireland spokesperson said: “As the weather gets warmer sales of sugar confectionery typically increase. The launch of the new Great Escapes promotion from well-loved sugar brand Rowntree’s is set to capture shoppers attention and excitement, as not only does it offer a fantastic opportunity to win great prizes, but it also includes the brand’s full portfolio of products so it has wide reaching consumer appeal. Add in an exciting new product launch in the run up to Wimbledon, with Fruit Pastilles Berries and Cream, and the Rowntree’s brand is certain to be driving sales and therefore category growth for retailers this summer.”

Rowntree’s has also launched a £2m deal to sponsor the 9pm film on Film4 for 12 months. There will be seven opportunities to see the brand’s advertising throughout each film, and all products within the Rowntree’s portfolio will feature.
