Dunnet Bay Distillers, the most northerly UK mainland distillery, has released a citrus variant of its award-winning Rock Rose gin.
Rock Rose Citrus Coastal Edition (RSP £37.50) is described as “flavourful and fresh, zesty and with a bracing sea air finish”. The 41.5% ABV gin was originally created for Craft Gin Club members and was so well received the company is now offering it to a wider audience.
Packaged in the distillery’s signature ceramic bottles, it features a coastal-inspired label with a turquoise wax seal and is available from the end of March.
Martin Murray, Dunnet Bay’s co-founder and Master Distiller, said the new variant was the company’s most experimental variant to date.
He commented: “It is inspired by the local Caithness coastline, in the most northerly part of mainland Scotland where the air is clean and fresh. The idea is that, when tasting this expression, if you close your eyes you can picture being on a beach on one of the most beautiful stretches of the UK shoreline.”
