Mondelez has reformulated its Ritz Original cracker to contain 70% less saturated fat.
New packs (200g, RSP £1.49) are available now in cases of eight.
The move takes Mondelez one step closer to meeting its global well-being commitment of reducing saturated fat by 10% across its business by 2020.
At the same time, the entire Ritz range has been given a makoever with a fresher new look, as well as a smaller two-facing shelf-ready pack that is more space efficient. The launch of the new design is supported by public relations and in-store activity.
There is also a new addition to the cracker range with the launch of new 70% less saturated fat Ritz Baked with Tomato and Herbs (175g, RSP £1.49, cases of eight).
Melissa Stuart, Brand Manager for Ritz at Mondelez International, commented: “This new launch makes the brand even more accessible, providing more options that meet growing consumer needs and the desire to be healthier. We’ve worked hard to ensure that the change in recipe does not impact the great taste of Ritz crackers that consumers know and love.
“We believe that these range developments will help drive relevance back into the savoury biscuits category and drive incremental sales, so retailers should stock up now.”
