The retailTRUST raised £90,000 at their Midsummer Celebration (formerly the Great Northern Ball), which was held last week in Manchester Cathedral.
The Celebration brought together new and loyal supporters of the Trust to show their support and generosity for their industry and to all who dedicate their lives to it.
Almost 250 people were present at the event, which was sponsored by Pets at Home, Kenneth Green Associates and Squire Patton Boggs. The purpose of the evening was to raise funds for the charity, as well as raising awareness of the retailTRUST and its key programmes: the youth training scheme retailRIGHT and the retailCURe credit union.
Guests saw videos from both programmes, highlighting the positive impact retailTRUST is having on the wider retail community.
Recent retailRIGHT graduate and new Clarks employee Naomi Bottomley was a guest onstage, alongside her new employer, Clarks Store Manager Sarah Weathergill and Vocational Development Manager Amy Prendergast, to discuss the impact retailRIGHT can have on the lives of young NEETS in the UK.
Richard Boland, Chief Executive, retailTRUST, said: “The northern retail sector should be very proud of its generosity and support this evening. We’d like to express many thanks to all those involved in this wonderful Celebration.”
