Last month saw a record amount donated through Nisa’s Making a Difference Locally charity, as Nisa retailers donated over £100,000 to good causes throughout the UK. Throughout August, 85 donations were made to 54 unique causes including charities, schools, sports clubs and more.
Kate Carroll, Making a Difference Locally Charity Manager, commented: “We are delighted to announce that our independent retailers donated over £108,000 last month alone, and that so many charities and good causes across the UK will benefit, as many rely solely on donations such as these to continue the much-needed work they undertake.
“We will continue to drive the Making a Difference Locally charity in a number of ways including via social media, through marketing activity and competitions, to help us to support even more local causes and enable our members to further cement their position at the heart of their communities.”
Making a Difference Locally raises funds in independently owned convenience stores that are members of the Nisa family, through the sale of items from Nisa’s own-label Heritage range and a selection of branded products which carry charitable donations from the suppliers.
Making a Difference Locally has been supporting good causes since 2008 and to date has donated over £6m in total, donating just under £1m last year alone.
There are currently over 2,300 stores participating in the scheme. For more information about the charity visit www.makingadifferencelocally.com or www.nisalocally.co.uk/community/make-a-difference-locally.
