Specialist playgroup charity Playskill was “beyond grateful” to receive a donation of £56,000 from Nisa’s Making A Difference Locally (MADL) charity, to help with running costs and support it in moving on to the next stage of its development.
Playskill runs sessions for pre-school children with special physical needs. Each child is matched with a dedicated therapist so that they receive weekly one-to-one support in a group environment. Children are encouraged to participate in a range of activities carefully designed to develop fundamental life skills while also having fun.
Andrea Clarke, Director and Paediatric Physiotherapist at Playskill, said: “This level of support is a game changer for us, giving us peace of mind that all our services can be delivered without the worry of having to cut back on helping our wonderful children and families who so need the intensive support to see them through their challenges of physical disability.”
MADL raises funds in Nisa stores from the sale of Heritage and Co-op own-label products. It has donated over £8.4m to more than 11,000 causes since 2008.
