Soft white cheese brand Philadelphia has launched two new dipping products geared towards sharing occasions.
Philadelphia Flip & Dip requires a bit of effort from the consumer: prior to dipping, the product is flipped upside-down to release lightly-whipped Philadelphia topped with one of three sauces. Variants include Sweet Chilli, Mexican Salsa and Caramelised Onion.
The brand has also released Philadelphia Simply Dip, described by Mondelēz as “a new intense taste experience with a velvety, melt-in-the-mouth quality”. The new packs include creamy, lightly textured Philadelphia in two variants, Olives and Herbs.
Elena Mallo, Marketing Manager at Mondelēz International, said: “Chilled Dips is one of the fastest growing snacking categories, but still has headroom for growth due to relatively low customer penetration (51%) when compared to other snacking categories. As a well-known brand, Philadelphia is ideally placed to drive consumers into the category and unlock its potential.
“With a host of seasonal sharing occasions such as picnics and barbeques on the horizon, this new innovation provides a great opportunity for retailers to drive sales as we move into the summer months. It will also be supported with a disruptive marketing campaign to drive footfall to fixture in chiller sections, so retailers should stock up to make the most of heightened awareness.”
Philadelphia Flip & Dip (130g) is available now in three variants: Mexican Salsa, Sweet Chilli and Caramelised Onion. Philadelphia Simply Dip (120g) is also available now, in two variants: Olives and Herbs. Both are packed in outers of six, and both carry an RSP of £1.49.
