One Stop’s festive hamper giveaway returns

One Stop Flemingate Beverly - Kayleigh James and Paul Coe

For the 9th year in a row One Stop stores are donating festive hampers and gift bags to the communities they serve.

Both franchise and company-owned stores, as well as departments within distribution centres and head office, have been given a sum of money to create festive hampers and gift bags. Colleagues can donate the hampers to a local charity, community group or even a regular customer who they believe deserves a festive cheer this Christmas!

Jack Taylor, Community and Partnerships Manager at One Stop, said: “Our One Stop colleagues never fail to amaze us in the efforts they put into the hampers, it really gets all of us into the festive spirit. Last year our stores created 4,000 hampers and this year we are hoping for another successful year – after all Christmas is a time for giving.”

One Stop New Ollerton in Nottinghamshire has personalised one of its hampers and filled it with a large bar of Cadbury’s Dairy Milk chocolate, Nestle Matchmakers and biscuits for regular customer, Mr Reader (pictured left), who has recently experienced the loss of his wife. Over the years, store colleagues have really got to know Mr Reader, and they were determined to put a smile back on his face at such a difficult time.

One Stop Flemingate in Beverley, East Yorkshire, has supported its local Rugby Club, Beverly RUFC, East Yorkshire Food Bank and two customers who do amazing things for their community. Clare Greaves runs a mental health support group called “Mental Health Mates Walk and Talk Beverly” that encourages people to talk about their feelings and come outside if they are struggling to socialise.

The store also donated a hamper to Paul Coe (main pic) who runs a litter picking group called “Wombles”.

Kayleigh James, Store Manager of One Stop Flemingate, said: “All of the groups we have supported are giving back to the local community and making it a better place to live and are really making a difference to peoples everyday lives.”

One Stop Brockenhurst Road in Ascot, Berkshire, have filled a hamper with a variety of crisps, chocolate and biscuits as well as chocolate coins to give away to a local football club in Ascot. The hamper will be raffled off to raise funds for the club.

Taylor added: “Our Christmas hampers project is always a magical time of year for everyone at One Stop, colleagues from around the business and the UK are empowered to support individuals, families or community groups to help make the festive season extra special. We always look forward to seeing our hampers spreading joy across our communities each year.”

One Stop has created 20,000 hampers over the last five years – giving back and helping thousands of families, individuals and charities.
