One Stop’s scholarship programme, which is designed to provide opportunities for young people from its communities, has opened to entrants for 2023.
Candidates must be 18-24-years-old and educated through a state school. Successful candidates will be awarded a £15,000 bursary, a business mentor, and a paid summer internship to support their three-year graduate course at a UK university. The programme will support courses that are focused around four key subject areas: online, technology, community, and sustainability.
This year’s application process, which closes on the 30 April, involves a video-call interview, with those who make it to the final stage of the selection process invited to visit the One Stop head office in Walsall. This experience day gives candidates the opportunity to take part in an interview with One Stop colleagues from each of the relevant departments that correlate with the subject areas offered in the scholarship.

We also support our scholars with regular mentoring sessions and watching people learn and grow is wonderful to be part of.”
In addition, those on the scholarship programme are able to take part in ongoing internship opportunities at One Stop which fit around their studies.
One Stop is working with the charity Groundworks on this initiative and is visiting colleges across the Birmingham area to help raise awareness of the programme and answer any questions for potential applicants.
