Nisa’s sausage sales sizzle despite soggy summer

Despite the lacklustre summer weather, sales of Nisa’s Heritage Gourmet sausages have gone with a bang. Almost £20,000 worth of sales were made to independent Nisa retailers in the first week of August, a record amount.

“Sausages are about more than just barbecues,” said Tracey Redfearn, Brand Manager for Heritage at Nisa. “They make an excellent choice for breakfast and our Heritage Gourmet range especially offers a fantastic choice for the weekend breakfast occasion.

“Members can really exploit this in store and encourage sales, particularly considering the competitive pricing of just £3 per pack or Buy Two for £5.”

Redfearn said that, as autumn draws closer, there were more opportunities for sausage sales to continue to rise.

“Sausages are so versatile; they can be used in such a wide range of family meals and the Gourmet range is perfect for a whole host of family favourites – sausage casserole, bangers and mash and toad in the hole to name a few.”

Andy Cowin, Nisa’s Trading Controller for meat and poultry, added: “Our Gourmet sausages are made from only the highest quality British meat. Sales are continuing to grow and the multibuy deal drives value and also delivers great cash margins for retailers.”
