The National Agricultural and Exhibition Centre, Stoneleigh was this year’s venue for Nisa’s annual retail exhibition, held on April 4.
In the evening, attendees were dazzled with a poptastic 70s-themed awards ceremony and gala dinner hosted by veteran DJ Tony Blackburn, which celebrated Nisa’s 40 years in the retail industry.
Northern Ireland had reason to cheer when the Store of the Year award (over 3,000sq ft) went Milestone Nisa Extra, Rathfriland. No Scottish stores managed to pick up a trophy this time around.
One Nisa employee was also acknowledged on the evening for her long-term commitment to the business with the Nisa Long Service Award. Carol Townsley was recognised for her four-decade-long career with the symbol group, which began when the company was first formed.
As well as awards to retailers who made a significant contribution to their local community through Nisa’s Making a Difference Locally charity, several suppliers were also acknowledged on the night.
Most notable among these was Molson Coors, winning the overall Best Supplier Award and the award for Best Service and Availability for the second year running. Best New Product was presented to Mondelez for its Oreo Thins range.
