Nisa taps into latest health trends

Nisa is helping its retailers to keep on trend with latest health and dietary food requirements with a new promotional event covering a wide range of products.

Gluten free, organic and protein rich meals and snacks are included in the Healthy Living range which is being highlighted to retailers to support them in their quest to ensure they meet the demands of the modern, health-conscious shopper.

Sports nutrition products from brands including Grenade and PhD Nutrition are just some of the products being put under the spotlight as well as healthier snack options such as Nakd and Trek bars from Natural Balance Foods along with Nairn’s oatcakes.

Point of sale materials including gondola ends have been made available to assist retailers to better display their offer to shoppers and draw attention to the range they have in store.

Julian Smith, Trading Controller at Nisa responsible for the impulse side of the cereal bar market, said: “Functional cereal bars are on trend and growing very quickly. Our retailers are having success with more niche brands such as the protein-packed Grenade and Smart Bars. The challenge is to dedicate an area for them in store so that they don’t get drowned out by confectionery.”

Gluten free and organic offerings from various big brands including the Co-op own-label Free From range are also highlighted with retailers encouraged to stock a broad range and demonstrate to shoppers they need not go to supermarkets or specialist shops to pick up their preferred, healthier options.
