Healthy snacking brand Nim’s Fruit Crisps has opened a new factory in Kent, following an investment of over £350,000.
The business had previously partnered with a factory in Eastern Europe, but founder Nimisha Raja (pictured) felt she could greatly improve the quality and consistency of her product by setting up a UK-based plant. The new site, which is the only British facility with the ability to air-dry fruit and vegetables on a large scale, means the brand can closely monitor quality levels and consistency of product.
The new production line provides a product with a higher nutritional content, crisper texture, sweeter taste, brighter colour and intense natural flavour. The manufacturing process also means the skin, core and pips in each fruit are left intact.
Nim’s Fruit Crisps founder, Nimisha Raja, is proud to have brought production back to the UK and help increase British manufacturing. She commented: “We wanted to make a crisp which was 100% fruit, tasted great and had a crisp texture that lasted once bagged. The bespoke machinery we air-dry with produces just that, giving us a very strong point of difference in the market.”
Nim’s Fruit Crisps relaunched at this year’s Speciality & Fine Food Fair with a five-strong range of 100% fresh fruit variants. The products offer a sweet snack which is high in fibre and vitamin C, with as little as 57 calories per bag.
