Former Nisa boss Nick Read has found a new job as CEO of independent gas and electricity supplier Extra Energy.
Read, who quit the symbol group last September amid buyout talks with the Co-op, takes up his new post on April 9.
Under Read, Nisa went from losing £3m one year to making over £7m the next. Despite the dramatic turnaround in fortunes, some retailers were unhappy with the former military man’s handling of the company.
Prior to Nisa, Read had stints at Thomas Cook, Vodafone, Lloyds and Tesco.
Nick Read, CEO designate of Extra Energy, said: “Extra Energy is well positioned to play a significant role in the energy market. I will ensure customers are at the heart of our offer and that we strive to constantly measure and improve the customer experience. We need to work with all our stakeholders as we seek to address the challenges facing Extra Energy and the wider industry. I am confident that we can play a major role in our sector as we seek to grow the business for the benefit of all stakeholders.”
