Coca-Cola Enterprises is introducing a new £1.79 priced mark pack (PMP), on what it calls its ‘Core 4’ range of flavoured carbonates. This replaces the current £1.99 PMP on two-litre packs of Fanta Orange, Fanta Fruit Twist, Dr Pepper and Sprite.
CCE says that with research showing 98% of shoppers want Price Marked Packs (“PMP”), but only 78% of retailers stock them, there is a huge sales opportunity not being met by all retailers. Shoppers perceive them as a special offer and this contributes to overall positive price and value perception, resulting in improved rate of sale with the added benefit of driving footfall in store for retailers.
Darren Goldney, Sales and Customer Development Director at CCE, comments: “Take home pack formats are very popular during the Christmas period, when shoppers are looking for popular brands to entertain friends and family. This new lower price of £1.79 represents even further value for consumers and the new packs offer a good balance between the recommended retail prices on PMP and rate of sale to retailers. These ‘Core 4’ brands are worth £97m MAT[1] and growing well in Impulse, so retailers should stock up ahead of the busy Christmas period.”
