A Glasgow chef renowned for his pizzas has been in the news. His pizzas might taste good, but that’s not the reason. Instead Domenico Crolla, proprietor of Bella Napoli in Shawlands on the southside of Glasgow, creates portraits of iconic faces in the form of cheese and tomato. His latest creation is of the Mona Lisa – following on from others including The Pope, footballer Cristiano Ronaldo and singer Rihanna.
Having presented his latest work of art to the public, Domenico said: “Who knows, perhaps the secret behind Mona Lisa’s famous enigmatic smile is that she was licking her lips at the thought of a delicious margherita pizza?”
Food for thought.
