Michter’s Distillery has launched two new expressions from its Legacy Series in the UK: the 2024 releases of Bomberger’s Declaration Bourbon and Shenk’s Homestead Sour Mash.
The two limited-edition whiskeys, which celebrate the heritage of Michter’s Distillery, are available via Speciality Brands.
Shenk’s Homestead Sour Mash (45.6% ABV, RSP £120) is named for the distillery’s original founder John Shenk. The 2024 release contains rye whiskey aged in French oak barrels. The release also includes malted rye and caramel malt whiskeys, to add a smooth creaminess.
Bomberger’s Declaration (54% ABV, RSP £120) is a Kentucky straight bourbon made to celebrate the distillery’s second owner, Abraham Bomberger. The 2024 release continues a tradition of using bourbon aged in Chinquapin oak barrels. This year’s release also includes bourbon with malted rye in the recipe.
