Motor Fuel Group has applied for planning permission to make a number of changes to its Annick Filling Station, in Dreghorn, North Ayrshire.

The company has applied to North Ayrshire Council to demolish the current car wash to make way for a complete revamp of the layout of the area adjacent to the petrol pumps and forecourt.

If approved, the revamp would see eight electric vehicle charging points installed and three jet wash bays erected.

This would mean that the BP garage would have both eight fuelling stations and eight charging points for electric vehicles.

The planning document says: “Motor Fuel Group’s proposal to install new EV charging points at Annick Service Station should be considered positively in light of the national context and the demand for the necessary infrastructure to support electric vehicle use across the UK.

“The proposed EV charging area has been carefully planned to positively integrate with the existing service station operation. The charging facility offers a modern design approach, which is uncluttered and fit for purpose.

“The proposals will be Equalities Act compliant, offering dropped kerbs and other associated measures to ensure equal ease of access for all.”

The proposal is currently pending consideration.
