Perfetti Van Melle is targeting the growing sharing opportunity and a younger audience with the launch of two new packs – Mentos Fanta Pouch Bag and Mentos Fruit Mix Pouch Bag.
Both are available in 140g packs with an RSP of £1.50.
Voted a Product of the Year in 2022, existing Mentos Fanta rolls and multipacks have delivered incremental sales to the portfolio, while the brand’s most-loved flavour roll, Fruit Mix, is worth £5.1m. The Fruit Mix pouches will also contain a new Green Apple & Blackcurrant sweet.
Each Mentos sweet has a crisp outer shell and a soft centre. The entire portfolio is vegan friendly and contains natural colours.
The launch comes with sharing bags accounting for 71.4% of sweet value sales, fruit flavours driving growth in sweets, and hard chews growing ahead of the total category, up 17.8% and now worth £71m.
It will be supported with in-store activities and POS throughout the year.
