McCoy’s chip and crisp lovechild makes its TV debut

McCoy's Chips 'When flavour calls' ad

McCoy’s is back on TV screens with an advert for its recently-launched McCoy’s Chips.

Airing until May 10, the 20-second TV spot features a woman in a seaside fish and chip shop consuming the snack while seagulls start to gather menacingly outside the window.

Supported by a £2m investment, the ad is accompanied by a subtitled social film as well as an outdoor campaign and shopper activation. The campaign positions McCoy’s Chips as “the love child of the chip and crisp”. It aims to drive further awareness and sales of the McCoy’s Chips range, which has already delivered more than £1m RSV since launching in February.

Dan Winslet, Marketing Controller for KP Snacks said: “Everybody knows that seagulls love their chips so who better to recruit for our new McCoy’s Chips ad than our cheeky seaside friends, desperate to get their beaks on the newest chip shop-inspired innovation in Crisps and Snacks”.

McCoy’s Chips is available in 125g sharing packs (RSP £1.50), 70g £1 PMPs and in multipacks of six 25g packs (RSP £1.60). Three flavours are offered: Sea Salt, Salt & Vinegar and Chip Shop Curry Sauce.
