Bowing to consumer demand, Nestlé has unveiled limited-edition KitKat Green Tea Matcha, inspired by one of the most popular of the 350 or so KitKat variants available in Japan over the years.
Matcha is a traditional drink made from powdered green tea that has been drunk for centuries in Japan, often as part of an elaborate tea ceremony. KitKat has combined it with smooth white chocolate to give a sweet and fragrant flavour.
KitKat Green Tea Matcha is made with no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.
The four-fingered bars are available in outers of 24 x 41.5g packs (RSP 85p) to One Stop retailers and from Booker.
“We have been receiving many requests about making the different KitKat flavours in Japan available to our consumers here,” explained Jemma Handley, Senior Brand Manager for KitKat.
“This unique new flavour has been Japan’s firm favourite for the last 15 years and we are sure it will be a huge hit here as well.”
The launch follows the introduction of KitKat Ruby last year.
