Landmark Wholesale Managing Director Martin Williams (pictured) has been re-elected as Chairman of the Federation of Wholesale Distributors for 2016. Andrew Selley, Chief Executive of Bidvest Foodservice, takes on the newly-created role of Vice-Chairman.
As FWD Chairman since April 2014, Williams has overseen several new initiatives within FWD, including a move towards stronger representation for foodservice wholesalers and the introduction of the Supplier Council, which brings wholesalers and brand owners together to discuss supply chain efficiencies and improvements in service to customers. During this time FWD has expanded with the additions of two new members, Caterforce and Country Range Group, reflecting the foodservice focus. Its annual conference and Gold Medal awards have both had record attendances in the past two years.
Williams said: “I am delighted that the Council have asked me to stay on as Chairman for another year. We have some very exciting projects in development, such as our How to Win in Wholesale seminars and our new training bursary. We have also built a strong voice for the sector and an excellent reputation within Government as a reliable source for information, expertise and opinion. I very much look forward to steering new plans that benefit wholesalers and suppliers.”
Andrew Selley joined the Council in 2014. He said: “FWD has made great progress in representing the broad spectrum of cash and carry and wholesaling across the retail and foodservice sectors, and I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with Martin on increasing the relevance of the organisation amongst my foodservice colleagues.”
