Mars Food UK has launched a partnership with the Trussell Trust that begins with an on-pack promotion to encourage the nation to ‘Stand Against Hunger’.
The Stand Against Hunger campaign will see Mars Food donate £100,000 to the charity to support the distribution of three-day emergency food parcels – containing a total of two million meals –across its food bank network to help families in crisis across the UK.
The on-pack promo is supported by print advertising, online content, in-store promotions, social media and influencer activity.
It runs across select Uncle Bens and Dolmio products from August until October.
Commenting on the new campaign, Craig Sargeant, General Manager at Mars Food UK, said: “Family dinnertimes are hugely important and we’re proud to be working with the Trussell Trust to help families in crisis, especially during this time of uncertainty. We hope the campaign will raise awareness about the issue of poverty and increase support for the Trussell Trust and local food banks, at a time of increased pressure on food bank services.”
Emma Revie, Chief Executive of the Trussell Trust, said: “Thanks to the ongoing support of Mars Food UK, food banks in our network will be better equipped to provide the lifeline of emergency food to people in crisis.
“But ultimately no one should ever need to use a food bank. Our partnership with Mars Food UK will not only help food banks today but will help us work towards a future where everyone can afford their own food.”
